•B vitamins:
Niacin is possibly the most excellent B vitamin; however it isn’t the only one. Vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folic acid are also essential. Homo cysteine is an amino acid, which is thought to be as bad as cholesterol for our arteries. Homo cysteine is a derivative of meat metabolism and its level increases with meat consumption. As the levels of Vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folic acid increases, the level of homo cysteine decreases. A Dietary supplement considerably decreases the homo cysteine level. Daily dosage of 300 micrograms of folic acid lowers the homo cysteine levels by approximately 15% while 550-microgram dosage of folic acid lowers the homo cysteine levels by approximately 25%.

•Vitamin C:
A large number of people think vitamin C is excellent for the treatment of common cold. A very few of them know that vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is also useful for the heart. Ascorbic acid may decrease the cholesterol somewhat. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant. By avoiding oxidative damage from dreadful LDL cholesterol, it is possible that vitamin C lowers the threat of atherosclerotic plaque development in arteries. Combination of vitamins C and vitamins E, acts as a potent heart-shielding duo.
•Vitamin E:
Vitamin E is an important class of vitamins and helps in preventing the risk of heart attacks and heart disease. Vitamin E does not directly increases the blood pressure but a situation does exist, where it might just act together with an anticoagulant such as warfarin (Coumadin) to boost the threat of bleeding.
